Social Networks create a 19 year old millionaire?

Posted Monday, March 24, 2008 by momscashblog | 14 Comments so far

Have you ever strived to be a millionaire, yes…I think we all have or do.

I came across an interesting website after reading a review on John Chow’s blog the other day. It was about a 19 year old guy from Canada with a big idea to become just that – a millionaire. Here is a little information about The Social Millionaire’s site:

- Buy custom keyword links – you choose your keyword and set your price

- Pay the price you want per keyword (the higher the bid, higher the exposure)

- T.S.M Will promote/advertise on social networking sites to reach the million dollar mark

He started this site 2 weeks ago or so and since then he has reached $2,347.19 to date.

It will be interesting to re-visit this post in a week, month…year and see how close he is!

- BLOG POST #5 UPDATE – PAID BLOG REVIEWS FROM MOM -

I have decided to offer my own custom blog reviews, I will not be using ReviewMe. I have decided to do this for 2 reasons. To save you guys money by offering cheaper reviews and I don’t take a 50% cut for my hard earned work. However, I still reccomend them if you are looking for an easy way to offer blog reviews and you don’t have your own payment processor such as Paypal…etc.

Click here to order a basic blog review or video blog review from Mom | $45-$70

Otherwise, I suggest trying your own and creating an “advertise page” with possible ad spots for sale and blog reviews that you decide price, terms and review style.

I have included some links below to help you get started making money with your blog in various ways, there’s even a donate button!

  • Paypal donation widget – Allows you to easily accept Paypal donations from your blog.
  • Bank Roll Plugin – Sell blog reviews directly from your blog (requires Paypal account)
  • Sell 125 x 125 ad spaces on your blogs, set your own price!

hi mom. what a great idea doing interviews on your site :)
would be even cooler to see you doing “live” interviews in the future, maybe in the form of a recorded skype video-call with your interviewee?
there is a free skype-plugin available to record the audio-part. for the video part, i’m not sure, but i guess in worst case, you also could use a screen-capture tool like snag-it to record it. what do you think?

Hi Krysti! Amazing job on the rest of the video. Too bad my video’s quality didn’t turn out better. I am still learning how to create a higher quality video! Anyways hope you and you readers had a wonderful Easter and thanks for taking the time for the interview!

Krysti, I’ve been round to your blog a few times now and I noticed you don’t have a blogroll. It’s maybe something you should consider as link exchanges with more established blogs will help boost your visitors.

I think the reduction in price is a good idea although not using a 3rd party company may result in less business as your site is not listed on a paid reviews marketplace.

If you are interested in exchanging likes please e-mail me.

Happy Easter,

Khalid.

Khalid, you raised a valid point about doing things through your own system, whether it be offering your own reviews w/out a service like Review Me or running your own affiliate program with your own software on your own server. You do potentially limit yourself in a number of ways. has it’s advantages, but when you get a lot of sales and receive increased exposure in the said affiliate program marketplace, that can be just as valuable and lead to greater things.

I wonder if the Social Millionaire will eventually add a search bar to the site since he’s basically building a directory.

Cool. I hope this guy will reach his goal. Don´t you think there are tooo much links on his site? Might this decrease traffic?

Another project that will shake the popmusic and gossip industry is the iBritney project. These people make money easy.
