Ping Your Blog
Okay…so that is a really funny word huh, and kind of fun to say P-I-N-G also ping! Okay okay I will stop. So if you have a blog and want to let others like Google, Msn, Yahoo, Etc…know that you have new content ready for them to crawl (crawling means that they will get your new content and go put the new content in their search engines or place on the web) then you MUST ping them AFTER you create a new blog post or after you have updated something new on your blogs. How do I ping is probably what you’re asking now…Okay I have a nice list of GREAT place to ping your blogs so you will get exposure and get in those darn search engine listings fast!

Krysti, I agree this is a good habit. It’s a good idea to bookmark the page after you ping too, that way you can just go there and not worry about re-entering all your info the next time. With multiple blogs, I use a folder for all of the pings. And if you’re self-hosted I believe you can insert code to auto-ping when you update, but I haven’t messed with that yet..
