Our New President

Posted Tuesday, January 20, 2009 by momscashblog | 21 Comments so far

One of my friends called me last night and asking if I received my invitation to Barack Obama’s inauguration. I thought she was kidding, of course, but she said, “No, we really got one for the work we did on his campaign!” To think, I might have an invitation to the Inauguration in my mailbox!  I haven’t been to the mailbox since January 3rd because it’s in a 6 foot snowbank… and anyways I thought I only had bills and they get taken care of by direct deposit, so why bother looking at them? (lol) I drive by the mailbox every day, but haven’t bothered stopping. This will surely make me think differently about picking up the mail.

It’s a “Commerative” invitation so that doesn’t mean I was invited to THE inauguration, it is pretty much a symbolic gesture. (and a nice one at that!) This has been one of the most inclusive events that has happened in Washington, D.C. in quite a while. I know I’m very proud to have Obama as our president and it’s heartwarming to see the world is excited about our choice.  It’s not often that people from all over the world come to participate in an American public inauguration. Like the millions of Americans who will be in Washington today, they want to see history in the making.

Good luck Obama! (Sorry I can’t make it, but I’ll watch it on TV. lol)

Mmm….Obama seems like a good man. I hope he will be a good president and do what is good for the country, the people and the world, not wallstreet, the banks or the high profile people.

Time will tell:)

Very well said, Michael (BloggerSource). All we can ask of any president is to “serve us well”.

And on my way home I checked the mailbox and it looks like I got snubbed! lol No commemorative invitation for me! (maybe my friend was trying to get me to check my mail.. hmmm.)

I was glued to my t.v. yesterday! Never have I been so interested in politics. Our country is just at a point where we can’t ignore politics as important as choosing a leader. I’m excited to see what happens. I hope he does well. I would have hoped that no matter who was in that position.

All I want is let Wall Street be happy with Obama as the new president.

I feel very optimistic right now (and haven’t felt much for a long time!)Glad to see Bush go, and time will show if my optimism is well placed.

Jerry, I feel good about it too (but anything’s better than what we had). I think it’s high time for some tolerance and understanding of everyone in the world. Time will tell, indeed!

Laura… of course Obama visits here often. His entrecard is cued up and ready to go as we speak. lol

Dalirin…I’m also hoping Wall St. changes, in the meantime, I’m buying while things are low.

Mominator… It was great to see the inauguration but I got tired just after a few hours of watching. lol (I can’t imagine what it was like for them… they must have been running on adrenaline!)

I was able to watch it up until the middle of his speech after he was sworn in…I had to bring my daughter to Pre-K…..she was a little late. hehe That’s how into it I was. I don’t think I could have watched it much longer…I had started watching at 10 am.

I admire him as well.Regretfully, I could not vote for him because I am not an American. I pray that he can tackle the problems left on his shoulders, the $3 trillion deficit and the change the US foreign policy.

Yeah whole world is watching Obama and hence this one also created pressure on him. Everyone is seeing him as god of hope and he will make the difference.

I do not want any overnight miracle. What I want is slow and steady growth … I just want to see Obama as fulfilling all the desires and wishes of every citizen of USA and world as well.

I think Obama took the chair at the crucial time. This time will make him either one of the best president of all time or may be a president who just know how to give speech.

Now time will reveal everything.

We have not seen any crucial changes from the Barack so far. Although his speech still have such kind of power but not in his act. Lets whether we will be able to see some kind of positive changes in coming years.

Rome was not build in one day. To make the changes you need time and mind set to be change. So just hold on and I am sure sooner or later we will be able to see some positive changes to be coming on our own way.

Respected President took the oath when USA was under the tremendous pressure of economic crisis. Every method and sector is showing down.

You can control one hole in your ship but when there are many holes than this will need time to manage them and you will have to remove water as well.

Guys just have patience and faith.

Although Barack Obama have shown the sign of changes by stopping outsourcing to Asian countries but however corporates are saying that even after paying the taxes they are gaining more instead of loosing.

So Barack Obama can get extra tax but problem of creating employment will be same.
