How to Write Ads That Sell – Part I

Posted Sunday, July 13, 2008 by momscashblog | 12 Comments so far

Here are some tips and ad writing techniques to help those of you who plan on selling products with your blog. If you’re getting into Affiliate Marketing you may have to write your own ads. Ad writing is also helpful for anyone with a blog. If you want to make money online or you have a blog with ads you’ll need to sell ads in your posts from time to time. Even if you don’t sell a product or ads, you will want to drive traffic to your blog from another site (either from a social networking site or from another blog). In other words, you will have to “sell your blog”. Knowing the basics of ad writing can be a big help for anyone with a blog or a business. (more…)

Selling Domain Names For Profit

Posted Monday, June 2, 2008 by momscashblog | 13 Comments so far

A fun way to make money online is buying and selling domain names. Most people think all the good domain names are taken, so “domaining” isn’t such a hot topic as it used to be. But the truth is, selling names is becoming even more profitable than ever and can only get better. The supply of good names is getting low, and the demand is increasing as new businesses and products crop up every day. It used to be that only the very big companies bought names, but now more people are willing to pay to get what they want.

The short one word names are thought to be the best and most are taken. (Sex.com sold for a record $12 million!) But there are still some uncommon words that haven’t been used, and it’s fun finding them or making them up. Google and Yahoo were not common household words until they hit the internet. Just get out a dictionary and plug a few words into the field to see what’s available. Two and three words strung together can have more meaning than just one word. They can be catchy and easier to remember than some one word names.

Always buy dot.com names because dot.org, dot.net, and the other dots are not as valuable as dot.com. To sell your names you might want a broker, so Google “domain name broker” (but you don’t really need one because if someone wants to buy your name, you will be contacted). Sedo.com, websitebroker.com, dotster.com and www.registernames.com are all good brokers but you have to find the best deal. Type the name you want into the field and it will say if it’s “available” or “make an offer”. If it’s available, buy it! If it says “make an offer, you can just move on to your next name, or if you think the name is valuable and you want to gamble on it, then become a buyer and make that offer and plan to resell.

Think of new ventures, globally or just within your state or community. One of my friends just sold a domain name for $1,600 in less than 6 months! When he heard that a new mall was being built in his city, he ran to his computer and bought the name. Within a few months, a broker told him someone wanted to buy the name. It’s hard to believe the mall owners didn’t register their name on the web before building the mall, but it happens all the time.

Domain names are a good investment and they don’t cost much (less than $15 each!).  But as with any investment, the more you have, the better the chances of making money. Get in on it now, while there’s still some left. One of these days, everyone will have to “make an offer” to get a good webname and you could hit it big by selling yours.

Blogging Time Saver – Take a day off!

Posted Monday, April 14, 2008 by momscashblog | 6 Comments so far

Alright, so I confess. Every now and then I like to take a day off from blogging. Well, you’re probably thinking…when do you do this Krysti? There seems to always be a new blog post here on Moms Cash Blog daily! Yes, but that doesn’t mean that I actually blogged that day! Hmmmm…now I have you thinking huh?!

What I do when I plan on taking a day or few days off…is simply BLOG AHEAD of time. There are a lot of people who don’t realize that the can do this, and it really is very helpful to any blogger. We all need a break sometimes yet we know that if we don’t post a blog post, our readers may disown us…Really.
It is important to keep your blog fresh, interesting and full of good quality frequent posts…so what I do is take a block of time (usually an hour or two…or three) and write or record a few blog posts. Then instead of clicking publish when I am done, I just click save and it gets saved as a draft. So on that day I want to take off, or go on vacation or allow myself the time to be sick in bed on those yucky days…I just access my WordPress admin, go to manage…choose the blog post draft and publish it. Wha-La – I can post a good quality blog post in a blink of an eye and it is awesome! I recommend that if you do not have at least one back up (draft) blog post saved, to do so immediately. Because you never know when you’re going to need a break…and you don’t want to leave your peeps hanging. Just a fun fact from Mom’s goody blog bag. If you need help you can email me at krysti@momscashblog.com anytime…or if you want your blog hosted on WordPress platform or need to create a money making blog like mine here and don’t know how – CLICK HERE for my FREE blog tutorial.

ClickBooth – Not your average CPA Network!

Posted Friday, April 11, 2008 by momscashblog | 5 Comments so far

Today I wanted to talk about ClickBooth, which is one of my favorite Affiliate Networks. In this post I will discuss who they are, the benefits of using them to make money online and what you will need to get started as an affiliate with them. As you may all know, Moms Cash Blog is a fairly new blog. I have not yet reached the one year mark, but in the months that I have had my blog online here – ClickBooth has been one of my top performers. The reason I think they have helped me to make some of the most money over any other affiliate networks that I have used in the past, is the fact that they have many offers available for me to promote. Some of the big names in their network are: Blockbuster, America Online, Efax, Reunion, Dish Network and Vista Print – just to name a few. You can see with that short list of advertisers that I just listed…the wide array of products, sites and companies that you are able to promote with ClickBooth as an affiliate. They actually have about 5,000 different offers giving you many, many choices. I love the ability to have different ads, for each of my different websites and blogs. Each site or blog that I run and operate, has its own theme and reader base. Therefor, I don’t want an affiliate company that will only give me the option of promoting cell phone ringtones, or sexy babes in bikinis (LOL) – I want good quality ads that people will actually click on and be interested in or else I will be wasting my time and eventually I will go broke. Their offers actually range from about $1.50 all the way up to $200 each, depending on the promotion. Plus, ClickBooth has an amazing 2nd tier referral commission of 2%…that means if you refer someone to their network and they become a publisher themselves, you’ll get 2% of THEIR earnings for LIFE! That is awfully generous of them, and I tend to make a great deal just from my referrals hard work each month.

Now keep in mind that as a blog or website owner, you actually own online real estate. That real estate is the available ad space that you have on your site or blog…remember, that space equals money! Just how much money you ask? Well, that depends on the ads that are placed in those areas. For instance, ClickBooth offers many different offers with unique payouts. Some of their top affiliates are earning six figures per month while others are starting out with a few hundred. Either way, I would say that those numbers speak louder than Google Adsense, for most bloggers and site owners these days. Now don’t get me wrong, I like Google Adsense – however I think that most blogs and sites that use Adsense have noticed a drastic drop in the amount of money they are making with them most recently. I am very confident in recommending ClickBooth to you, because I know that their publisher payments are always on time (gotta’ love that), their payments are steady and growing, their affiliate managers (which you will be assigned to your own personal manager when you sign up) are totally helpful and awesome to say the least and no matter what skill level you are when it comes to affiliate marketing – they will be sure that you are successful with your ads. They offer help when you need it and can even recommend their top affiliate programs of the month! One other thing I would like to mention and get off of my chest is the fact that they are honest. This is SO important you guys…because if you are working for an affiliate network that is not established, not honest…nor professional – you could end up losing a lot of money. Just because an affiliate network has a website, a name and a few offers for you to promote – doesn’t make them a good affiliate network that you can trust your precious ad space with. As a ClickBooth publisher, I usually end up making more money than I calculate for the month. It is always a nice surprise to exceed your monthly money goals. Another perk to ClickBooth is the fact that anyone is welcome to apply and join their affiliate network. Believe me, I know what it feels like to be a small fish in a big pond when you first start a website or blog. It seems like most well established affiliate networks only cater to super affiliates. Well…weren’t those super affiliates once that small fish themselves. You have to start somewhere and if nobody gives you that starting chance, of course you will never succeed at making money online. ClickBooth once gave me that chance and now here I stand. An established blog, with quality ads and a full time income coming in. Something I had only dreamed about at one point has now become reality for me! So hats off to you ClickBooth – you are and will remain one of my favorite affiliate networks on the block.

SO…If you are ready to start making great money online with one of the most reputable and highest paying affiliate networks around, please don’t hesitate to check out ClickBooth’s website at:
