The following article is a guest post by Source Blogger. At Moms Cash Blog, we are always looking for a diverse mix of guest authors to provide their own perspectives to our audience. As Moms Cash Blog evolves, we think it is essential to give you this type of outside exposure. What do you think?

As a blogger, I must say that I was very impressed with the Source Blogger blog. It is intelligent, relevant, with very informative articles that everyone will find useful.

With that being said, let’s get right into: Are You Ignoring the Value of Keywords? Many thanks SourceBlogger for this guest post…jj

In internet marketing, the term of “keywords” is a collection of words that related to particular topics which are mostly used by internet users in searching products or services. Your products or services.

Doing a keyword research for internet marketing involve various aspects, such as finding sales oriented keywords which could driving maximum targeted users to increase online sales. Your online sales. Doing a keyword research is the first step towards a successful search engine optimization campaign. You have to be very careful when selecting keywords, as it can be very tricky to select targeted keywords for a website.

In selecting the best of keywords should always be based on various aspects such as product names, services, brands, or general terms. When doing keyword research, it’s highly recommended to do a very thorough market research analysis to find the best keywords used by search engines to find products and services online – and find out what keywords are targeted by competitors who are doing well in marketing on the internet. (This typically will be other blogs in your specific niche/category.)

Are You a Mommy Blogger too? You Should Appreciate This.

The first step in finding the best keywords is to make a list of the products, topics, and services that you offer. You can also make good use of your website logs to know which keywords have brought you the traffic in the past. Be sure to select keywords that clearly define your business and products to drive traffic from the search engines. There are some websites which get high levels of traffic through general keywords although they might not end up being sales.

Nowadays, search engine users are aware of how they work, for searching products and services on the net. They are always looking for the better products with the nearest geographic locations to them, so you should consider all factors for each keyword terms. Fortunately, there are numerous tools available which could help you identify keywords that are suitable for search engines. The challenge here is to determine which keyword is the best to generate traffic and convert into sales.
There are lots of great tools out there to help you determine how much of a return you are receiving from your keywords: Here’s a few that we use on an active basis. (Yes, they are free!)

Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool: Overture’s Keyword Selector tools shows you how many searches have been conducted over the last month for a particular phrase and lists alternative search terms you may have forgotten about. Our only complaint with Overture is that they lump singular and plural word forms into one phrase. For example, “boots” and “boot” would appear under one category of “boot”. This can sometimes cause problems.
Google AdWords Keyword Tool:  Google’s Keyword PPC tool doesn’t provide actual search numbers for keywords. Instead, it displays a colored bar, giving users only an approximation. Still, it may be useful.
Google Suggest:   Google Suggest is a great way to find synonyms and related word suggestions that may help you expand your original list.
Thesaurus.com:  Again, another way to locate synonyms you may have forgotten.
We hoped you found this article useful. We want you to clearly define your “brand” and the keywords surrounding your blog should be used to your advantage.

We are honored for the opportunity to be a guest author and partnering with JJ on Moms Cash Blog.

Great tips, thanks! I didn’t think the Overture tool was still alive…guess I’ll try it out again.

Finding the correct keyword, or keyphrase, can seem do difficult especially if you are in a competitive niche. It may be easier to narrow your niche down to a niche within the niche then ranking for keywords will be easier.

Thanks you JJ! Great post and return! Disappointedly I’ve tried advertising without the correct keywords and lost plenty of money but using some of the resources you’ve mentioned I’ve changed the way I market all together. Stephen Pierce has a great course Call MRMI Super Cash and its one of the best online courses available. He mainly focuses on a bit of what you are talking about here. Thank you again

Hi,

This isn’t actually true anymore

‘Google AdWords Keyword Tool: Google’s Keyword PPC tool doesn’t provide actual search numbers for keywords. Instead, it displays a colored bar, giving users only an approximation. Still, it may be useful’

It now provides statistical information as well as approximations so its far more useful than it was before to blog owners, who don’t have the budgets for paid tools like Wordtracker.

I know exactly which keywords I want to rank for on my blog and Bing and Yahoo! are on side, just not Google who seem to be keeping me pinned down for the time being!

EverythingCarBoot, Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, I really appreciate it. I think in regards to the Google Keyword PPC tool not being the same anymore, this new way at least still does what we need it to do. Although I for one hate change I say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. thanks again for coming over and I will make sure to stop and check out your blog. thanks!!

lol..I am not ignoring the importance of keywords, but I was finding keywords that are “great” hard – in the tens of thousands – not in the low millions ;) . It’s great that I found another mommy blogger that is doing well with her blog about making money on the net :)

I’ve been learning a bit about SEO and I think that it is not acceptable to ignore keywords. From what I’ve learned, it’s like a hint to search engines on what’s your site all about.

I know the value of keywords but unfortunately some times I do ignore them. I end up just writing a blog post and forget to ad some keywords in there to get more value from my posts.

It is so tempting to just write without regard for keywords but it really pays to do the research and use good keywords in your articles or posts.

@homesto buy: I think a lot of us forget how important the value of the keyword is and when we write our post we either ignore them or rather forget to concentrate on them when we are writing our post.
