True advertising is free to one extent but one must get your customers to your website and sometimes you may have to pay or really put some hard work to get those customers over to your site/store. With a very small investment of a domain name and inexpensive hosting, anyone can set up a simple site and begin promoting the products of their choice. As you mentioned, more people than ever are shopping online because of the convenience. People who live in small towns and have no access to large shopping malls, and those who don’t want the hassle of crowds and parking are ideal candidates as online shoppers. I think that when the stats are released, we’ll see record breaking numbers of online holiday shoppers this season.

Hey Kirsten, Thanks so much for stopping by. You can get some of that holiday money from affiliate marketing,just remember that it does require some work. Although you don’t have to invest any money most of time, if you already have a blog you could simply start now by selling some products on your blog by picking an affiliate network. You can also start a new blog like my good friend Robert suggests down below here and purchase a domain,hosting co. and you can be on your way. Either go big, or maybe you may want to start off small. Either way good luck. BTW I went to your blog, and I love it. I think it’s a great site to learn and read about new movies that are out. This is pretty good advice but it would be very helpful if you could actually describe how the affiliate stuff plays into this strategy. What I mean is, most of the affiliate networks I have seen let you promote offers to various products and services. But they are rarely actual products that you could find in stores like consumer electronics. They are things like credit reports and diet pills. So how do you use your site to sell things that people actually want? (and how do you get people to come to your site in the first place?) -Mike

I just started in the arena of affiliate marketing and I am finding it not as easy as one may think. A lot of visitors to your site or blog is needed to make a fair amount of money, therefor promotion is very important. Getting the site up & working or picking an affiliate network is your first easy steps, finding the products that you want to sell is your second, and third which is the biggie… you have to get the people to your site to buy your product. This does take some work. To Des Moines movers, when I was first confronted with affiliate marketing I had only seen ebooks, and like you stated diet pill ads,and software to download. If you look around & maybe try Commission Junction you will find they have real products that you can sell, they have Tracfones, Bedding Co.s. cookware, clothing companies the lists are endless. So try CJ.com and Pepperjam.com has some great products to review also. Look around, but be cautious of the networks that may not have been in business for too long. Let me know if you need any help. To BlackGardenFurniture, I’m sorry that you have such feelings regarding affiliate marketing… but I can understand your frustration. Affiliate marketing is an online business where advertisers of a product,ebooks,electronics, even furniture give the publishers (that’s blog or website owners) commissions for advertising their product on their site and if you sell that product the publisher gets a commission for that sale. It isn’t as easy as some may think, but on the other hand it is completely doable. As far as selling useless guides to desperate people I think that is only true if one does not do their homework on the Affiliate Network that they go with, there are certainly some CO.’s out there that are not reliable and can be a waste of your time. If you use your mind, there is no reason why you can´t use the World Wide Web to make a living for yourself. As far as markets, with a click of a button you can go just about anywhere. As research goes, you can find about anything you need to know, and as to potential revenue, there’s no limit. The good news about making money online is it can cost you little or nothing compared to a physical business which could cost and risk you an arm and a leg or more. Realize, however, that making money online doesn´t come easily for everyone. For most, it takes hard work and a good dose of “trial and error.”

How right you are about the WWW and making money online is NOT an easy task for any of us! First off, if you don’t have your site all spruced up by the Monday after Thanksgiving, don’t worry about it. Evidence shows that “Cyber Monday” isn’t really the sole busiest shopping day of the year, but it’s more spread out between that date and the 15th. You can still revamp things and capitalize on the Christmas shopping season.

Affiliate Marketing can be worth pursuing but one has to be patient especially when first starting off. The amount of money one makes depends on what niche you pick and how much you pursue your product. Also remember that the affiliate you work with sets the price of your commission so that may be something you would want to check out before you pick out a certain product.
